We are first-generation immigrants who moved to the US in the early 2000s from India. We came here to pursue higher education and graduated with Masters Degrees in Engineering and Business Administration. With our traditional upbringing in India, we were always very environmentally conscious. However, it was not until a simple question from my 5-year-old Son around a lifestyle that we could really discover our True North, our true purpose in life.

After his trip to India to visit his Grandparents in 2016, my Son came back to the US with a curious question on his mind. He asked, “Why Grandpa and Grandma has only wooden toys for me to play with?” At first, it seemed like a simple answer, but quickly it became a story about conscious lifestyle choices people can make for a safer planet and healthy self. His Grand Parents made a conscious decision to get rid of plastic from their lives and replaced most of the household plastic products with better alternatives like wood, steel, copper, cotton, leaf-based products, etc. that not only saved money and helped local artisans but also are environmentally safe and healthy.

That day, it hit home on us how much we surround ourselves, our kids, and our pets with unhealthy plastic and that there are better alternatives exist. At that moment, we decided to make it our mission to not only implement a plastic alternative, eco-friendly lifestyle for ourselves but also think big and extend this to the rest of the world. Thus “Ecozoi” was born. It stands for an eco-friendly lifestyle. We believe that an eco-lifestyle would create a sustainable flywheel of Happiness by considerably lowering our Carbon footprint.

Ecozoi’s mission is to redefine lifestyle with eco-safe and healthy products creating sustainable happiness and making people’s lives better.

In addition to being a certified woman-owned small business, Ecozoi is also a family business.
